Keeping kids entertained can be a real challenge, but Fort Langley manged it today! Our newly connected cousins took us from Surrey, BC, to the restored and/or reconstructed original Fort Langley which developed as a fur trading post for the Hudson Bay trading company. The hands-on copperage, blacksmithing, historical recreations, animal feeding and gold panning kept the kids well and truly engaged. Family fun for free to celebrate Canada 150 all 2017 in National Parks.
Then it was a sushi lunch, meandering around the delightful heritage village with its many attractions of antiques, rail caboose museum with its model train exhibit, a black licorice icecream, little artisan studios and boutiques and candy and coffee shops. Quite a day followed by more foodie fare of marinated chicken and great salads Chez Coltrin, listening to yarns of family traditions and marvelling at Cameron’s creativity with his cube within a cube within a cube and Dr Who Dalek school projects……and ending the evening with Aaron’s De Lorian….WOW!
