Wedding bells, bye, bye Melbourne and bellbirds

An enforced wifi blackout has meant a few days of blogfree reflection and reading time……so now a brief summary of our time in Melbourne:

.  Wonderful catch up with rellies on Friday – always a joy to see Margaret Geard!  Her love of gardening lead us to the State Rose Garden and Werribee Mansios after a tasty lunch at Wyndham Cache

.  Could the catch up be any better?  Well a stint with  Bucks and Kathy Buckley at the Gamekeepers Inn on the Melton Highway certainly kept up the fun.  Always a travellers’ tales or three to liven things up.

.  And plans made with both for their upcoming trips to us in Queensland

.  Back to the Lakeside Paradise Hotel…….needed the whiteout for the Paradise part.  Very disappointing a whole lot of levels, but a place to lay the head.

.  Saturday sleepin!!!!! After a 4 kms walk around the manmade wetlands behind the motel complex.  Lots of waterbirds and willows.

.  Saturday evening wedding at Overnewton Castle at Keilor……SUPERB venue, family and friends, many tears from the groom and a great menu.  Just a lovely, small and intimate time xxx Well done Mr and Mrs Jeremy and Cara Hill.  Can’t wait to see the photos you choose.

the brothers and the groom and their beers

.  And so it was off through the cavalcade of Sunday traffic to exit Melbourne an hour and a half later and discover Lakes Entrance on our coastal route north and homeward bound……and many bellbird calls along the way.

Meanwhile back home grandson Lorenzo continued to entertain the patrons at Viale Canova restaurant at Clayfield with his background music.
